Healthy Lifestyles

We have been working hard to learn about making some healthy changes in our lifestyle through exercise, looking at what we eat, and proper hydration. We figured out approximately how much water we should be drinking every day. We have been running or walking every day.  This week we have been looking at writing directions in groups kids created a basic cake recipe which we made this am, they then researched some substitute healthy choice items.  Some of the changes for these healthy choices were: sugar was changed with apple sauce or bananas. Some of the learning that took place this week and today, we wrote recipes, measured ingredients, took part in some science (thanks Noah, Ian, Kieran and Junior) as well as learning life skills like cooking, washing dishes, and vacuuming. Fantastic day. More photos to follow tomorrow, iPad died.

Week 3 - Term 2

Week 3 Notices

Malo e lelei, to all our students and parents.

We have had some wonderful learning taking place over the last few weeks. Our concept for this term is Health and Wellbeing and our children took part in some wonderful ignition activities, learning alongside different teachers and seeing the importance of eating healthily, exercising, how important parts of our bodies need to be looked after and the ability to self regulate through mindfulness.

These will hopefully spark some interest and passion for our children. It is important to discuss this at home with your child too.

This Friday Rm 12 kids will be attending the morning Parish Mass. This starts at 9am. All parents are invited. This will then be followed by a shared morning tea in the church hall.  We would like to ask that our students can bring in something light to share for this. If you are able to help with serving tea and coffee, that would be much appreciated too.

What's happening this week:

Tues: Library

Thur: Ascension Liturgy.

Fri: Rm 12 attending Parish Mass at 9am. Golden Time and assembly.

Reminders:

Next Wednesday: Cross Country - please fill out the transportation form

Next Thursday: Pentecost Liturgy

Please remind your child to charge their Chromebooks each night.

I am enjoying our sunny autumn days. It was great to watch the children partake in winter sport this weekend. Please send through any photos so we can celebrate the student's success.
